What a fun day! Our teams were Australia 4 and 5. At the various stations we did: Tag games, soccer skills, athletic skills and rugby skills. A lot of us used our Kia Kaha spirit and supported and encouraged each other to give the activities a go.
The winner of Australia 4's free swim voucher goes to Lillia for trying her hardest at each station. Well done!
There is one more voucher and the winner will be announced soon. Stay tuned!

Week 3
This week we did some cooking as part of our Kia Kaha unit on bullying. We had to work together to make Marshmallow treats and Lolly Log. They tasted delicious!
Term 3 so far
At the beginning of this term, in response to the Possum Magic big book, we cooked ANZAC biscuits.
Here is what we did:

Here is what we did:
Today we made ANZAC biscuits. Miss Lowe put us in 3 groups. I was in group two. We went to the technology room with our Possum Magic book and we got split up in our groups then we washed our hands. When we had washed our hands we go straight into cooking. First we put flour, sugar, coconut and rolled oats in the mixing bowl. After that I got to put 2 tablespoons of Golden Syrup in with a bit of butter. Miss Lowe stirred the butter and syrup well. Someone stirred the baking soda in the boiling water. When the baking soda and boiling water was mixed it got tipped into the syrup and butter. Then we put the syrup , butter, baking soda and water into the mixing bowl. When we had mixed it all up we made it into balls and squashed them with a fork then we put them in the oven. When they were cooked we tasted them. They were YUM! A few minutes later we wrote about it. I liked making ANZAC biscuits-it was fun. I enjoyed putting the Golden Syrup in the bowl.

Market Day
Market Day
On Thursday it was market day. I walked around a lot but then suddenly I saw a lolly cake store called Lovely Lolly Cake. I bought a small box and went off. I saw my mum and she gave me $1.00. I also saw a Pet Rock store. I bought a blue rock with 2 googly eyes. I called him Bubbles. I also got a bowl. Then the whistle blew. That meant that I had to start work. I worked for a little then some members from the crew came back so I had a little shop. I bought a drink and some friends poured sherbet in it. That made it taste yum.
Alyssa M did the same thing. I went back to work and a lady from the newspaper came and took a picture of me and Shaun. Flash! The camera was bright. A few kids bought a card but not that many. They were going to the food stores. Most of the food stores were shut down. Mrs Wilton-Scott came over and shut down our job so that meant SHOPPING but there wasn’t that much to buy so I went back to my classroom and put my stuff on my desk. I went to where we were sitting and suddenly Miss Lowe came out of no where and said that we had to stay outside and finish our food and drinks and then she went inside room 17. Me and Alyssa M started talking about what we did then Alyssa told me my tongue was green. I told her hers was, too. We pretended we were aliens. Everyone laughed then the bell rang. I knew it was lunch time.
When the day was over I went home and told mum all about it. It was fun at Market Day. I learnt that you can ask for a work break or you can earn a break.

PERFECT MARKET DAY
On Thursday the 9th of June it was a busy Market Day at Lytton Street School. Inside the hall it was very noisy. I could hear lots of popping from the popcorn machine. I heard lots of crushing from when the ice was in the blender. It made a lot of noise. Actually I think it was most of the noise. I was selling the Gingerbread Cookies. They had green and pink icing with sultana’s on top for some more decorations.
I saw lots of people there. It was like a traffic jam. Suddenly it got noisier and noisier. My mum came really late so she didn’t get to buy anything. Mum had ten dollars. We spent it on tea. It was a really busy day. The sad thing was that some peoples money got stolen, but it was a great day.
